World Market Christmas 2023

Holiday Cuckoo Clock

When you’re looking for a fun cookie jar, that is just a little bit different, check out the World Market website. We are not lucky enough to have one nearby, so I can shop in the middle of the night and not worry about traffic. And if you are on a budget, World Market is great. All the jars shown here are $29.99.

Scandinavian-Look Santa

The Scandinavian-look Santa is different enough too catch my eye. He has a cute expression and my “Santa-eye” problem doesn’t factor in, as they are closed in glee. He is 10.5″ tall.

I LOVE the Holiday Cuckoo clock jar and if I could figure out how to add clockworks to the front of the jar, it would be a definite BUY for me. The different look is a definite plus in the cookie jar world and reminds of the California Originals Cuckoo clock jar. The jar is 11″ high.

Polar Party Penguin Cookie Jar

When you have a friend who has the most extensive collection of Penguin cookie jars, one pays attention to the jar, even if not a collector. This is a new one and it’s probably already in her collection. The simple lines on Polar Party Penguin make it a cute jar and at 11″ high fits in with the other jars here.

Polar Party Snowman

Last but not least, is Polar Party Snowman. Slightly smaller than the rest of the World Market jars, but the same simple lines can make it a good addition to a Snowman collection.

Cheryl’s Jars & Cookies!

Checking out Cheryl’s Cookies shop is always a must for jar collectors. She (does Cheryl really exist?) usually has few seasonal pieces and when I have ordered, quality has always been great.

This Christmas there are several fun choices including a 12″ Penguin holding a cookie – $59.99. The Baking Santa cookie jar is holding a gingerbread house with cute holly trim on his suit and is a whopping 13″ high – $59.99.
Mrs. Claus, holding a tray of cookies, matches Santa with her holly-trimmed outfit. She is also 13″ high for $59.99.

Neiman Marcus Christmas 2023

It’s an unlikely store to buy a cookie jar, but it can also be rewarding when unusual pieces can be found. The Halloween Candy Cat is one of my all-time favorite Halloween jars. Then a few years later I bought a Santa with fairy wings, at least I think it was a Santa. Both found at Neiman Marcus.

Neiman Marcus Pink Nutcracker

This year Neiman’s jumps on the pink bandwagon with an exclusive Pink Nutcracker jar. I’ll probably pass on it and be sorry later on, especially with the great price of $50. The modern-stylized jar has loads of gold and is 12″ tall. Then there is a pink Santa Head, Papa Noel, from Glitterville for $148. The eyes on this jar bugs me — just not the proper Santa look! For $148. it’s a definite pass from me. If you have this jar, let me know what you think.

Glitterville Papa Noel

Also shown on the Neiman Marcus Website is a beautiful Spode Christmas tree jar, one fun feature is a box under the tree with the legendary Spode tree (1938). A Spode Snowman and Rudolph cookie jar join the collection, but I also found them available on Bed, Bath and Beyond website for a fraction of the price.

MacKenzie-Childs Sweet House

MacKenzie Childs — I resisted these so long, but the past two years I’ve added to the collection! I think the Holiday Sweets House will be my pick for this year.  It has the traditional black and white check,  a gingerbread man and loads of candy. Retail price is $198.

MacKenzie-Childs Peppermint Santa

The Mackenzie-Childs Peppermint Santa jar also at $198. is a close second and still might wind up on our shelves.

Pottery Barn Christmas Jars 2023

It’s always hard to resist and/or choose what new jars I might want to add to the collection. Sometimes it’s easy to pick, other times . . . .
Pottery Barn

The big news is that for 2023 Pottery Barn is debuting a collection of Christmas Lampoon items. Soft pieces, an advent calendar, pjs and even the Cat Pillow. The house cookie jar looks great in the pictures, but I haven’t seen it in person. $109.

Pottery Barn’s other Christmas. jars were at the local store — and they were definitely impressive.

Christmas Tree in the Country

If you’re a Christmas collector, you probably have at least one Christmas tree jar. This was a HUGE jar at 13″ and I really think I will be adding it to my Christmas tree cookie jar category.

Gingerbread Stoneware House Cookie Jar

The Gingerbread House was a simple stoneware design and fits the Pottery Barn look. The jar reminds me of the old stoneware pieces from years ago.

Pottery Barn Gnome Jar

I’m not really a gnome fan, but the gnome was simple, beautiful and HUGE. I’ll be definitely thinking about this gnome to my limited gnome family of jars.

Pottery Barn Santa Cookie Jar

The only disappointment in the group is Santa. I know, I know, how can I be disappointed in Santa? This was a simple design, but my problem is the eyes. Just didn’t have the twinkle that Santa’s eyes should have. To put it simply, it could have been a jar found at a Walmart, nothing special that says it’s from Pottery Barn. Disclaimer: I didn’t handle the jar, so it could be beautifully made, but just didn’t care enough to check it out.
