Over the years dozens of Disney themed cookie jars have been added to our shelves, but so far this year has been a little sparse. I’m pretty sure there will be more to be added to the list as the holidays get closer.

The Christmas Pooh Santa looks familiar, I’m pretty sure it’s been around before, but in case you’ve missed it check it out on Amazon. It’s produced by Zrike Brands, producers of numerous licenses oover the years. The jar is tall at over 13″ and sells for $49.95.

I stumbled upon the Santa Stitch at TJMaxx stores. Fun looking jar with a price of around $39. Check out your TJ Maxx and Ross Department stores for the occasional jar, it’s one of the those places that if you see it, get it! It won’t be there the next time.

The only jar on this list that is actually at online Disney store is the Snowman Mickey. The over 11″ Snowman sells for $64.95, but if you use Rakuten to get a healthy cash back rebate it’s like getting it on sale.

Note: I’ve literally been using Rakuten since 2012 and have received back over $2000. in rebates, it’s super easy and I’ve never heard any complaints about it. Rebate amounts change all the time, but right now Disney Shop is at 8%, Macy’s at 8% and Neiman Marcus is 10%.

I’ve been compiling a list of new jars out for 2023. Yikes, it’s a long way to go especially when I am also fighting with a difficult website in the midst of a rebuild. Please bear with me as I try and figure this out.

DISNEY CHRISTMAS
It’s another license that is not producing like in the past, but a few new Christmas jars are floating around from Disney. Of course it’s not been easy finding them all and I know there are more to be discovered–somewhere.

NATIONAL LAMPOON
There is not one, but two Griswold houses this Christmas season. Department 56 has a set of three different jars under the National Lampoon License. My favorite is Cousin Eddie’s RV car jar. The house is about half the price of the one from Pottery Barn, but cannot compare quality since I haven’t seen in real life. If you have, please share your thoughts.

Neiman Marcus
A pink Nutcracker and an exclusive MacKenzie-Childs Candy cottage are the exclusives for Neimans this year. I’m pretty sure the cottage will be making it’s way to our shelves this year.

The first Christmas jar this year that was a must-have for me is the Elf on a Shelf cookie jar. I love the face, I love the size and I love the quality.

It’s always hard to resist and/or choose what new jars I might want to add to the collection. Sometimes it’s easy to pick, other times . . . .

The big news is that for 2023 Pottery Barn is debuting a collection of Christmas Lampoon items. Soft pieces, an advent calendar, pjs and even the Cat Pillow. The house cookie jar looks great in the pictures, but I haven’t seen it in person. $109.

Pottery Barn’s other Christmas. jars were at the local store — and they were definitely impressive.

If you’re a Christmas collector, you probably have at least one Christmas tree jar. This was a HUGE jar at 13″ and I really think I will be adding it to my Christmas tree cookie jar category.

The Gingerbread House was a simple stoneware design and fits the Pottery Barn look. The jar reminds me of the old stoneware pieces from years ago.

I’m not really a gnome fan, but the gnome was simple, beautiful and HUGE. I’ll be definitely thinking about this gnome to my limited gnome family of jars.

The only disappointment in the group is Santa. I know, I know, how can I be disappointed in Santa? This was a simple design, but my problem is the eyes. Just didn’t have the twinkle that Santa’s eyes should have. To put it simply, it could have been a jar found at a Walmart, nothing special that says it’s from Pottery Barn. Disclaimer: I didn’t handle the jar, so it could be beautifully made, but just didn’t care enough to check it out.

It might be thirty-four years, but that hasn’t stopped the licensing from continuing. One of the classic Christmas movies has several licensed cookie jars this year — an exclusive Pottery Barn jar and a similar looking house jar from Department 56. The fun part are the go-withs from Department 56 includes Cousin Eddie’s RV in jar form, as well as Snots Dog Treat jar.

I’m loving the RV jar and not sure I have the words to describe the treat jar, this is a case where a picture is worth a thousand words.
